Barbara Steele fans
will want to add this picaresque comedy to their collections since
it features Steele’s one and-only known celluloid nude scene!
Mario Monicelli helmed this fantastic Italian production which was
nominated for an award at the 1966 Cannes Film Festival. The plot
centers around a group of rogues who steal an ancient scroll which
grants its bearer the property of the land of Aurocastro. The group
elects a shaggy knight, Brancaleone (Vittorio Gassman at the top of
his acting prowess) as their leader and pursue the conquest of this
supposedly wealthy land. The incredible cast includes Catherine
Spaak, Gian Maria Volonte and Maria Grazia Buccella. Steele steals
the show as Teodora, a sinister-looking woman who engages
Brancaleone in a whipping match inside a gothic castle. Steele is
constantly falling out of her frock, revealing flashes of bare
torso! We’re thrilled to be able to offer the original, uncut
115-minute Italian-language version of this film with English
subtitles. The full screen picture quality is crisp with true
colors and only a bit soft. This title comes with full color box
