When Karen returns home, she snaps at Ray for calling her
“Carrie.” Jagger sits alone at Kelly’s and
remembers Karen breaking up with him.
Jagger and Brenda run into Karen on the docks dressed in her
rave dress. Brenda pries, and asks where she is headed, but Karen
tells her that it’s none of her business. Karen meets with
Stone and he convinces her to enter the Paradise Lounge for the
first time. Meanwhile, Brenda convinces Jagger to go out on the
Quatermain boat with her. Jagger is reminded of the storm last
summer when he and Karen and Jason capsized.
Karen has a fight with Rhonda about never having been there
for her when she was a child. Karen says that she was always passed
out or with some boyfriend. Then Karen goes to the Paradise Lounge
and meets Sonny (Maurice’s first appearance on GH). Karen is
curious about stripping and asks about it. Sonny convinces her that
a woman stripping is in “control,” and when he
challenges her to give it a try, Karen rises the challenge and
strips for the first time. When she is done, Sonny comments,
“a star is born.” Meanwhile, Jagger and Felicia track
Crystal (a runaway who used to know Jagger’s brother) to a
hotel room, but find her dead from an overdose. Felicia calls Mac
to come over and he officially gets involved in the case.
Meanwhile, Karen wins first prize for her stripping: $300. Stone
says, “that has to be the easiest money you’ve ever
made.” Karen feels funny about taking it, but Sonny convinces
her that she earned it. Jagger returns to Kelly’s and tells
Brenda what happened to Crystal, and that he is afraid his brother
is going to end up the same way.
Sonny tells Stone about Crystal’s death. Meanwhile, at
Kelly’s Rhonda finds the $300 in Karen’s purse and asks
her where she got it. Karen says that she was going to go shopping
and withdrew some money from her account. Sonny calls Karen at
Kelly’s and asks her on a date. Karen hesitates, but accepts.
Stone drops by to tell Karen about his friend Crystal being dead,
and wants to hang out with her, but Karen says she can’t
because of her date with Sonny. Later, Sonny sends his limo to pick
her up, and Karen asks Jagger if she can leave early. Jagger says,
“I really don’t care what you do.” Meanwhile,
Brenda has a talk with Gina on Jagger’s behalf and convinces
her to come and see him at Kelly’s.
Jagger and Brenda head out to search the video arcades to
find the machine in the picture with Mike, but first Jagger asks
Karen to cover his shift for him. She says she can’t, and
Jagger says it’s okay, because he’s learned “not
to count on her.” Later, a limo comes to pick her up, and
Jagger points out that it’s becoming a habit of her’s
to be winning and dinning with a man who can afford limos. He tells
her that he’s happy that she got what she wanted all along,
which is money. Jagger and Brenda find the arcade game that Mike
was playing in the picture, and get a list of street names off the
high score list. One of the names is “Stone.”
Meanwhile, Sonny plays Karen a tape of her stripping to show her
how she knocked their socks off. Karen admits that she didn’t
make a complete fool of herself. When the video switches back to a
live feed from the Paradise Lounge, Karen sees Ray sitting at the
bar. She jumps up and says she has to leave.
Karen/Jagger/Brenda #5- 8/23/93-9/27/93
On this tape, Karen gets to know Sonny better, and begins
turning to him for comfort. Also, Jagger finds his brother, who we
already know is Stone, and Karen has to pretend that she doesn't
know him. Also on this tape, Jagger finds out about Karen stripping
when he sees her onstage at Sonny's club, and near the end of this
tape, Jagger walks into Sonny's apartment just after Sonny and
Karen have slept together.
Karen tells Sonny all about Ray and what he did to her. She
thinks is was all her fault, and that she was "bad." Sonny tells
her he will never judge her, and has Ray thrown out of his club.
Meanwhile, Jagger and Brenda just miss Stone at the video arcade.
Karen turns to Sonny for comfort after a confrontation with
Ray at Kelly's. Sonny gives her some tranquilizers to calm her
down. Then he leaves her there to compose herself. Karen watches
the video tape of herself stripping, but turns it off right away
when Stone walks into the room. Stone calls her on being modest. He
also tells her that he paid for Crystal's burial, and is going to
attend the service. Meanwhile, Brenda and Jagger return to Kelly's
and find out that Karen took off without telling anyone. Jagger
tells Ruby that Karen has been doing a lot of things that are
Brenda tells Rhonda all about Karen's new rich boyfriend and
the limos he has been sending for her. Rhonda asks Karen about it,
but she is evasive and tells her he is "just a guy." Then Karen
goes to see Sonny to unload. Sonny goes on and on about how special
she is and how far above everyone else she is. Meanwhile, Jagger,
Mac and Felicia wait at the cemetery to see if Jagger's brother
shows up for Crystal's burial. Mac and Felicia have to leave early,
but Jagger stays behind and waits. Eventually, Stone shows up, and
Jagger is finally reunited with his brother. Jagger tells him all
that he has been through to find him over the last five years. They
return to Kelly's together, where Jagger introduces Stone to
Brenda. Mac and Felicia stop by to see if Jagger found his brother,
and Jagger introduces them. Later, Karen comes in and freezes when
she sees Jagger with Stone. Brenda tells her that Stone is Jagger's
brother, and is only too happy to gloat about having helped Jagger
find him. Stone and Karen pretend they don't know each other. They
meet up later at Sonny's apartment, and agree not to tell Jagger
anything about Sonny or the Paradise Lounge.
Karen strips at the Paradise Lounge for the second time, and
makes a lot of cash. Sonny tries to convince her to give up her
other two jobs and work for him full time. Karen admits that she is
tempted, but is taking care of her mother, and cannot leave her.
Sonny says, "she left you, Carrie." Meanwhile, Jagger has a boxing
match with A.J. at Lenny's gym and wins.
At the PL, Karen has to run off the stage when Jagger shows
up, having followed Stone. Karen tells Sonny that she can't let
Jagger see her stripping. Jagger and Stone step outside and have it
out about Stone having lied to Jagger about where he has been
working. Jagger tells him that Sonny is a thug, and is using him,
but Stone defends Sonny and says that Sonny is more of a brother to
him than Jagger.
Karen wakes up and finds Ray in her room, watching her. She
threatens to tell her mother what he did, but Ray tells her that he
didn't do anything that she didn't want him to. Meanwhile, Gina
comes to see Jagger and Jagger tells her that she had been right
about Stone all along. Karen tells Sonny that she's not getting any
sleep, and Sonny gives her more tranquilizers.
Jagger tells Brenda that he thinks he overreacted with Stone,
and wants to go back and talk to him, but Karen will not cover his
shift for him. Karen goes to the PL, telling Sonny that she's so
tired she can't keep her eyes open. Sonny tells her to go up to his
apartment and take something to give her a "boost." She does, and
soon begins to feel a buzz. Meanwhile, Jagger gets Brenda to cover
his shift at Kelly's and shows up at the PL. The bouncer tries to
keep him out, but Jagger punches the guy and walks in time just to
see Karen stripping on stage. He steps outside with Stone and
demands to know what Karen is doing up there. Stone tells him that
Karen has been stripping for weeks, and she's exactly where she
wants to be. Jagger says he has to hear it from her. He enters the
PL through a back alley and walks into Karen's dressing room. Karen
is shocked to see him, but tells him to mind his own business and
that she is no part of his life anymore.
The next morning at Kelly's, Brenda asks Jagger what happened
last night, but Jagger doesn't tell her anything about Karen.
Brenda assumes that he is upset about his brother. Later, Karen
asks if he is going to tell anyone else about her knew job. Jagger
asks, "will that make you stop?" Karen replies, "No, I don't want
to stop." Later, Jagger turns his affection towards Brenda and
kisses her. Brenda asks him, "Did that just happen?"
The next day, Brenda is excited because Jagger has won his
first professional fight. Then Brenda gloats to Karen, telling her
that it must bother her that Jagger tells her "everything.
Everwhere he goes and everyone he sees." Brenda is only blowing hot
air, of course, but Karen jumps to the conclusion that Jagger has
told her about the Paradise Lounge, and calls him on it. Jagger
says he didn't tell her because it wasn't worth mentioning. Later,
Karen tells Ruby that she can't balance two jobs on top of her
schoolwork, and needs to quit Kelly's.
Jagger sits outside Kelly's and thinks about Karen and how
much she has changed. Meanwhile, Karen goes up to Sonny's apartment
after a performance and tells him about having quit Kelly's because
it made no sense to hang around people who don't understand her
when she can be with him. Sonny tells her, "once you make up your
mind that you want to be here, you can't go back, because you won't
have anything to go back to." Karen tells him that she has nothing
to go back to now, "so what difference does it make?" Meanwhile,
Jagger finds out about Karen having quit Kelly's and decides that
he needs to see her. He goes to the PL and sneaks up to Sonny's
apartment. When he walks in, he finds Karen on the couch wearing
nothing but a blanket. It is obvious that she has just slept with
Sonny, especially when Sonny walks into the room half dressed.
Karen tells Jagger to leave, and Jagger gets into a fist fight with
Sonny, knocking him unconscience. Meanwhile, at Kelly's, Brenda
gloats to Robin and Jason that she and Jagger are closer than ever.
Ruby feels that she has to tell Brenda the truth: that Jagger is
still hung up over Karen, and went to see her as soon as he found
out about her having quit her job. Later, Jagger returns to Kelly's
and ices his bloody knuckles. Brenda tells him that she knows he
went to see Karen. Then she looks at his hand and says "tell me
where the pain is." Jagger says, "I wouldn't know where to start."
This is the tape you don't want to miss! Sonny retaliates
against Jagger by having him beaten up in the basement of the
Paradise Lounge, and releases him only in exchange for a piece of
his boxing contract. Karen's situation worsens when she becomes
hooked on drugs, and steals some from the hospital. Brenda follows
Karen to the Paradise Lounge and sees her stripping. Karen comes to
her senses and realizes that Sonny has been using her and leaves
him. Also on the tape is the infamous boxing match that Sonny
orders Jagger to lose, otherwise he will "hurt" Karen. Jagger wins
the fight, and he and Karen flee Port Charels to escape from
Karen and Stone take Sonny to the emergency room at GH, and
Karen has to pretend that she does not know Sonny, and that she
merely stumbled upon him. Later, Karen apologizes to Sonny for
pretending that she didn't know him, and Sonny says he understands.
Meanwhile, Jagger and Brenda sleep together.
Rhonda comes to Kelly's and finds out that Karen quit her job
there. Brenda is happy because, as she tells Julia, "she has
everything she has ever wanted," and her life is perfect. When
Karen shows up at Kelly's to pick up some of her things, Brenda
slides under Jagger's arm and says, "I don't thinks there’s
anything of yours left to take." Meanwhile, Sonny assures Stone
that he will not retaliate against Jagger, but when Stone leaves
the room, Sonny makes a phone call ordering some thugs to beat up
Karen is about to leave Kelly's for good, but her mother
refuses to let her quit. Karen has no choice but to stay, as not to
cast suspicion on herself. Meanwhile, Jagger and Brenda have a
picnic in the woods and Brenda tells him that it reminds her of the
time they spent in the cabin. Jagger thinks about the cabin, too,
only when he shared it with Karen, not Brenda. Meanwhile, at the
Paradise Lounge, Karen overhears Sonny ordering a couple of thugs
to beat up Jagger. She tries to talk Sonny out of retaliating, but
Sonny pulls her aside and tells her never to disagree with him in
front of his men. Karen cannot talk him out of it, so she goes to
warn Jagger instead, but can't find him anywhere. She stops at
Kelly's, asking where Jagger is, and Brenda deliberately sends her
in the wrong direction. Meanwhile, Jagger is picked up by Sonny's
men and beaten up in the basement of the Paradise Lounge. Karen
gets Marco to help her negotiate with Sonny for Jagger's release.
Sonny tells Karen to go upstairs, then he cuts a deal with Marco: a
percentage of Jagger's boxing contract in exchange for his life.
The next day, Marco tells Jagger that he needs to sign a
contract, but Jagger is content with the handshake deal that they
have. Marco keeps insisting, which makes Jagger suspicious.
Meanwhile, Rhonda brings Karen's mid-term grades to Kelly's and
insists on opening them in front of everybody. The grades are
terrible, and Karen makes excuses about having no time to study.
After that, she goes to see Sonny, but talks to Stone first, and
tells him that she needs to cut back on her hours at the PL. Stone
tells her that Sonny would not understand, and not to tell him.
Then Karen sees Sonny and Marco talking on the monitor. When she
asks Sonny about it, he insists that it has nothing to do with
Jagger, and that he is safe from retaliation.
At Kelly's, Karen is strung out on pills and spills Alan's
coffee. He notices how horrible she looks and tells her that he
wants to talk to her later at the hospital. Karen skips school to
go to the Paradise Lounge to look for more pills, but can't find
any. Stone finds it odd that she went through a whole bottle of
pills in a few days, but Karen tells him she lost them. At the
hospital, Alan asks Karen if she has been taking artificial
stimulants to keep her going. Karen tells him no, but Alan sees all
the signs. Later, when the opportunity presents itself, Karen
steals pills from the hospital. When she drops by Kelly's to tell
Ruby she can't work her shift, Brenda comments to Robin about how
terrible Karen looks, and how she would give anything to find out
what is going on with her. When Karen leaves, Brenda and Robin
follow her to the Paradise Lounge and watch her go inside. The
bouncer will not let Robin in, so Brenda goes in alone. Karen tells
Stone that stripping used to be an escape from her problems, but
now it's not enough, and she can't do it anymore. Stone warns her
not to tell Sonny, because he "might not understand." Karen
pretends that everything is okay when Sonny walks up to her. Later,
though, Stone finds out that Karen stole pills from GH, and tells
her to get out before it is too late. Karen is about to leave, but
Sonny comes in. Stone tries to lie for Karen and say that she is
sick and needs to go home, but it doesn't wash with Sonny. He tells
Karen that she needs to "take care of business." Karen goes on
stage, and unbeknownst to her, Brenda watches from the crowd. While
Karen is stripping, she spaces out and sees all the men leering at
her. Then she sees Ray in the crowd and runs off the stage. Sonny
demands an answer, and Karen tries to explain that the all the men
were staring at her. Sonny replies, "that’s what I pay you
for," and tells her that the "innocent little girl" routine is
wearing thin. Karen has it out with him and leaves. Meanwhile,
Brenda returns to Kelly's, where Rhonda is looking for Karen, and
tells her about Karen working as a stripper. Jagger walks in and
gets mad at Brenda for meddling in Karen's affairs.
Karen returns home, but her mother is not there. Stone shows
up and warns her that Sonny is madder than he’s ever been,
and is not going to "let her out." When Rhonda comes home, her
suspicions are confirmed when she sees Karen in her stripping
costume, and offers no support whatsoever. Karen leaves with Stone,
and he takes her to a cheap motel to sleep off the drugs she is
The next morning, Stone takes Karen back to the hospital,
where Alan confronts her about the missing drugs. Karen admits that
she took them, and cries on his shoulder. Alan promises to keep the
incident off her college records if she stays clean until the first
of the year. Rhonda comes to take her home. Later, Sonny shows up
at Karen's apartment to ask her to come back to work. Karen makes
it clear that she wants nothing to do with him or the Paradise
Lounge. Later, Stone comes by and suggests that Karen go away
somewhere where Sonny cannot find her until he cools off, but Karen
says she is not going to run from him. Next, Sonny comes to the
hospital and harasses her while she is working. Karen calls
security on him, and he leaves. Angry, Sonny meets up with Stone on
the docks, and accuses him of wanting "Carrie" for himself. Stone
denies it, but Sonny gets mad and shoves him off the dock.
Marco tells Jagger about the deal he cut with Sonny, and that
Sonny wants him to throw the next fight, being that he owns a piece
of the other fighter. Jagger is furious with Marco, and refuses to
take a dive. He tells that to Sonny when he shows up at the gym to
rub it in Jagger's face. Sonny tells Jagger to throw the fight, or
else "something is going to happen to Karen." Later, Stone returns
to the PL, and is still mad at Sonny for throwing him in the water.
Sonny smooths him over by telling him that it was a vote of
confidence. Then he asks Stone to help him Karen by convincing her
to come to Jagger's fight. Stone talks to Karen, and gets her to
agree to come, as a favor to him.
Jagger wins the fight, despite Sonny, and when it is over,
Sonny grabs Karen by the hair and starts pulling her out of the
gym. Jagger punches Sonny, and leaves with Karen. They go back to
Kelly's to borrow money from Ruby and pack some clothes. Jagger
tells Karen all about Sonny owning a piece of him, and that he
threatened Karen's life if Jagger did not throw the fight.
Meanwhile, Sonny shows up with two big guys looking for Jagger.
Ruby stalls them while Brenda runs upstairs and warns Karen and
Jagger to leave. Then she runs interference for them when Sonny
walks into Jagger's room. Meanwhile, Karen and Jagger arrive at the
cabin and build a fire. Karen thanks Jagger for getting her out of
Karen/Jagger/Brenda #7 - 10/27/93-1/20/94
On this tape, Karen and Jagger put all their problems behind
them when Karen tells Jagger what Ray did to her. They make love
for the first time at the cabin, then return home to face Sonny,
Ray and Rhonda. Also on this tape is Rhonda being beaten by Ray and
Alan killing him, A.J.'s attempt to frame Jagger for the murder,
and Jagger's marriage proposal to Karen.
Karen wakes up in the morning and is alarmed when Jagger is
not there, but he returns with food. They get into a conversation
about Sonny, and why Karen got involved with him in the first
place. Karen admits that she lied to him when she broke up with him
(about him not being good enough for her). Then she tells him about
Ray and what he did to her. She talks through it with Jagger, and
tells him that she has spent these last few months thinking that it
was all her fault. Jagger tells her that it wasn't, and that he
still loves her. They make love for the first time, then decide to
return to PC and face Sonny, Ray, and Karen's mother.
Karen and Jagger see Sean and press charges against Sonny for
the fixed fight and for threatening to kill them. Then Karen tells
Sean to arrest Ray for sexually abusing her. After making a formal
statement to the police, Karen mentions to Sean that she is not
ready to go home to her mother yet, so Sean offers for her to stay
with him and Tiffany for the night. Karen accepts.
Karen faces Ray at the police station, but Ray denies all the
accusations, and says that no one is going to believe the word of a
stripper. Karen tells him that he is going to pay for what he has
done, and that there is no punishment bad enough. Afterwards,
Jagger takes Karen home so she can face her mother, but Rhonda is
passed out on the couch next to a half empty bottle of booze. Karen
says "not tonight," and throws the bottle across the room.
Karen comes back the next morning and tells Rhonda what Ray
did. Rhonda does not believe it at first, and thinks that Karen had
a dream and imagined it. Karen tells her that he did it over and
over, and convinces her that it was real. Rhonda shows up at
Kelly's looking for Ray, calling him an animal, and that she is
going to kill him for what he did to Karen. She leaves in a mad
rush. Brenda and Jason overhear all of this and figure that Ray
molested Karen and that is why she has been acting so weird the
last few months. They both feel awful for the way they have treated
her. Meanwhile, Rhonda returns home and Ray shows up, letting
himself in with the key she gave him. She demands the key back and
smacks him for what he did to Karen. Ray beats her up. In the
middle of it, the phone rings. Rhonda picks it up and Alan is on
the line. He hears her screaming and rushes over. He arrives just
as Ray is finished, and finds Rhonda unconscience on the floor.
Alan throws him into the wall, where he breaks his neck and dies.
Meanwhile, Karen attends the banquet where Alan is being honored
for his work at GH, and Alan shows up late. When the banquet is
over, Alan tells Karen that their mother has been taken to GH.
Karen waits all night while Rhonda is in surgery. Then Karen
is at her bedside when she wakes up. Sean offers to take Karen home
with him again for the night.
Karen visits Rhonda in the hospital, who is doing much
better, and runs into Jagger on her way out. Jagger asks if Ray has
been caught yet. Karen says no. Jagger says he'd like to kill him
for what he did, and Sean hears him. Rhonda tells Karen that she
accepted $10,000 from Alan to help her with her education. Alan and
Monica come in, and Karen thanks Alan for all his help. Then Sean
comes in and says he has news about Ray. Karen runs into Sonny when
he brings her flowers for her mother, and makes it clear that she
wants nothing to do with him. Then Karen goes to see Gail Baldwin
to begin her therapy.
Brenda packs her bags and moves out of her room at Kelly's.
She is mad at Jagger for the mixed signals he has been sending her,
and tells him that he has to get Karen out of his system once and
Sean questions Jagger about where he was the night Ray was
killed. Jagger has no alibi, but swears he did not kill Ray. Sean
reminds Jagger that he heard Jagger threaten Ray two times. Jagger
goes to Lenny's Gym and tells Marco that he is giving up his boxing
career to become a cop. When he returns to Kelly's. A.J. gets in
his face and tries to provoke him. When A.J. leaves, he steals
Jagger's gym key out of his coat pocket. Later, Sean comes by to
return the key, telling Jagger that it was just found not far from
where Ray's body was discovered. Sean advises him to get a lawyer,
because he is now the prime suspect in Ray Conway's murder.
Brenda and Karen put their differences aside to try to figure
out who really killed Ray. Sonny becomes their first suspect. Then,
when Sonny walks into Kelly's, Karen makes a hasty retreat. Brenda
has a conversation with Sonny and asks him point blank if he killed
Ray just to frame Jagger for it. Sonny denies it, and Brenda rules
him out as a suspect. After another conference with Karen, they
come up with A.J. as the next logical choice. As luck would have
it, A.J. walks in. Brenda talks to him and casually brings up her
idea that Jagger was set up by someone who hates him. A.J.'s
reaction leaves Brenda convinced that he is the one.
Jagger finds it odd when he walks into Kelly's and finds
Karen and Brenda giggling about "girl stuff." Karen tells Jagger
that she is giving Brenda a chance. Then Karen and Jagger exchange
Christmas presents. Later, when Jason drops by, Karen manages to
get herself invited to the Q mansion. Once there, Karen and Jason
join A.J. and Brenda in the jacuzzi. Karen and Brenda bring up the
situation with Jagger and get a reaction out of A.J. when they hint
around that A.J. has more reason than anyone else to have framed
At Kelly's, A.J. comes in and tells Karen and Jagger that he
has just been to Sean's office and cleared him of Ray's murder,
claiming to have found Jagger's gym key by mistake and dropped it
at the plant by accident. Jagger punches him. A.J. reminds Jagger
that he could have kept quiet and let Jagger fry. When he leaves,
Karen and Jagger dance to Jail House Rock.
Jagger has a belated Christmas gathering with his brother and
sister. Stone and Gina fight like cats and dogs the whole time.
Karen manages to smooth things over, though, when she tells Gina
how much Stone helped her get out of the bad situation she was in,
and that she shouldn't be so quick to write him off. After they
leave, Karen and Jagger start fooling around, but have to stop when
Ruby comes to the door to send Jagger on an errand. After she
leaves, Karen tells Jagger that she is sorry for sending him mixed
messages, but she is not ready to be with him yet.
Karen runs into Sonny at the hospital on her way to a therapy
session with Gail, at which she admits to Gail that she loves
Jagger, but she does not feel worthy of him.
Karen and Jagger make love. Then, the next morning, Jagger
asks Karen to marry him. Karen hesitates, being that she is still
in therapy and trying to put her life back together, but Jagger
convinces her that they can make a commitment to each other no
matter what challenges lay ahead. Karen tells him there is nothing
in the world she would rather do than marry him. Being that Jagger
does not have a ring to give her, he makes her a temporary one by
drawing it in ink on her finger. Karen tells him it is "perfect."
They decide to keep their arrangement a secret until Jagger can buy
her a real ring.
Stone shows up at Kelly's to take cover after a mob war
breaks out in the streets, and Sonny becomes a target. Jagger is
mad, and knew all along that Sonny would get him in this kind of
trouble, but insists that Stone stay with him until the trouble is
The next morning at Kelly's, Jagger tells Karen that he wants
her to come with him to pick out the engagement ring of her choice,
so she has a ring that wont "wash off." Karen tells him that she
doesn't need an expensive ring, but Jagger insists on it.
Karen/Jagger/Brenda #8 - 1/24/94-3/30/94
This final tape of the Karen & Jagger series begins with
Karen and Jagger picking out an inexpensive ring at the jewelers.
Jagger convinces Rhonda to change her mind about him and come to
the wedding. Karen and Brenda crash Jagger's bachelor party at the
Outback. Also on this tape is their non-wedding at the
conservatory, when Jagger and Stone get into a motorcycle accident,
and Karen speaking in front of the scholarship committee to get
reinstated. They are married at Kelly's and leave Port Charels.
Karen and Jagger go to the jewelers and pick out an
affordable ring. When they return to Kelly's, they see a newspaper
headline about a mob war that has broken out in the street and
figures out that that is what caused Stone to have to hide out.
Jagger starts badmouthing Sonny, which angers Stone. Stone
threatens to leave and take his chances on the streets, but Jagger
makes him stay.
Brenda notices Karen's ring, but Karen is coy about it and
will not give Brenda a straight answer when she asks about it.
Brenda prods Stone to find out if he knows anything, but he
Rhonda comes to Kelly's and finds out about Karen and
Jagger's engagement. She is not thrilled, to say the least, and is
completely against it. She thinks that Jagger is unable to support
Karen financially through med school, and that Karen will give up
her career for him.
Rhonda comes to Kelly's to tell Karen that after a long talk
with Jagger, she has decided that she likes him, and approves of
the wedding. Karen is amazed at Jagger for turning her mother
around. Karen goes to the hospital to work her shift and runs into
trouble when a spanish speaking woman comes in for help and is
hysterical. Karen doesn't know enough Spanish words to calm her
down, but an orderly named Miguel Morezz lends an hand, and speaks
Spanish fluently. But when the woman crawls out on the ledge and
threatens to jump, Karen and Miguel attempt to talk her into coming
back inside. Then Karen goes out on the ledge herself to help the
woman back inside, and accidentally falls over the side, but Sean
and Miguel pull her back up. When Jagger hears about the incident
on the news, he rushes right over to the hospital to see if Karen
is okay, even though he will be late for his police academy exam.
Once he sees that Karen is okay, he rushes to the school and takes
the test even though he has already missed some of the allotted
Karen and Jagger announce their engagement to Brenda and
Robin when they walk in and catch them in the act of making wedding
plans. Brenda tells Jagger that she is okay with it, and that she
knew all along that they would end up together. Karen asks Robin to
be her maid of honor. Then Ruby asks Karen if she will be able to
patch things up with her mother before the wedding. Karen tells
Ruby that it's pointless, and that her mother will never change.
Jagger, however, goes to see Rhonda and asks her to please come to
the wedding. Rhonda changes her mind and says she will come.
All of Karen's friends throw her a wedding shower at Kelly's.
Then Jagger shows up and announces that he has been officially
accepted into the Chicago police academy.
All of the guys throw Jagger a bachelor party at the Outback,
complete with strippers. Meanwhile, Karen, Robin and Brenda hang
out in Karen's room and chat about the men in their life. Then
Brenda suggests that they crash the bachelor party. All three of
them show up at the Outback just in time to shoo away the
strippers. Karen tells them that Jagger is "all hers."
Robin and Karen prepare for the wedding, and Robin asks Karen
if she knows anything about the job that Stone is doing for Sonny,
which might be dangerous. Karen says she doesn't know anything,
except that Sonny is bad news. Meanwhile, Jagger finds Stone
waiting by a van in preparation to do his job for Sonny. Jagger
demands that Stone come back with him, but Stone refuses. They get
into a fight, and Jagger knocks Stone out. When Stone comes to,
Jagger hoists him up on his bike and heads back for PC, but the
bike slips on the ice and they crash into the ditch. Stone wakes up
to find that Jagger is unconscience, and pulls him away from the
motorcycle before it explodes. He gets Jagger to GH. Meanwhile,
Karen waits anxiously at the conservatory for Jagger to show up.
Audrey comes to tell Karen that Jagger was brought into the ER.
Karen goes to the hospital and sits with Jagger until he wakes up.
She is mad at Stone for almost getting Jagger killed.
Karen and Rhonda come to visit Jagger in the hospital, and
Rhonda gives Jagger an old antique pocket watch that belonged to
her grandfather. When Karen and Jagger read the news paper and find
out about the Frank Smith bust. Jagger realizes that Stone must
have been assisting Sonny in the prison break, and gets off on a
tangent about the kind of danger Sonny is getting him into, but
like always, she defends him. Later, Alan stops by to tell Karen
that the scholarship committee is not exactly leaning in her favor.
Karen tells him that she wants to speak in front of the committee
and tell them that she has turned her life around.
Jagger gets anxious to be released from the hospital so he
can fly to Chicago and support Karen when she goes before the
scholarship committee, but no one will authorize his release.
Jagger decides to sneak out of the hospital, and Miguel helps him
by smuggling him out in a laundry cart. Jagger shows up at the
hearing just as Karen begins to speak her piece, but his showing up

departure. Jagger thanks everyone for standing by them during some
