Thats a nice looking coin. With all the talk of fake trade dollars, I looked it over and compared as best as possible to mine. Plus looked for the usual signs of forgery. Have you weighed it?

I see silver prices went down to below $9.50 today. How long have you had this trade dollar?

Ive had it for a while. At this grade its around $400 or more looking at the PCGS price guide. The worst looking silver dollar is worth more then silver value. Even if it was higher then the $13 it was at.

Well i don't want to insult you. When you said it was worth that much I just knew it was too risky for me. I am leary of a trade dollar that I don't even know the weight of. And truthfully the counterfeiters are getting so good that they even get the weights right. In the 1970's according to a coin site and winkipedia there were 500,000 fakes made and sent overseas. Plus in the 1920's i guess a bunch more were produced. That makes the earlier fakes more realistic as they would have some wear. Where did you purchase the coin? Was it from an overseas seller? Have you considered having it graded? That would allow you to collect top dollar. just curious how many fingers are in liberty's left hand 3 or 4? I can't tell from the picture.
