The Woman Behind Village Boutique

Hi!  My name is Colleen and I am the owner of The Village Boutique!  I have been playing in makeup since I was 6 years old (it helps to have a big sister and know which drawer she hides her makeup in) and I can never resist buying just one more shade of eye shadow so opening Village Boutique was just an excuse to buy thousands of eye shadows at a time without feeling guilty!  Just kidding -- kinda!

I am married to the most incredible singer in the entire universe.  Together we have 6 children, and 5 grandchildren.  And I can tell you from experience that The Brady Bunch was pure fiction!!!  Seriously, when my husband isn't performing, he is usually in the Boutique helping me pack and ship orders.  My 3 youngest children help too:  one folds shipping boxes for me, one (I've nicknamed the Tissue Paper Fairy) folds all that pretty pink tissue paper and lines all of the boxses, and one stuffs the little pink goodie bags full of FREE SAMPLES for you!!!  It really has become a family business!

The Village Boutique started off carrying European soaps and bath products, imported Greek soaps, homemade Goats Milk and Olive Oil soaps, and natural sea sponges.  Gradually we added the microdermabrasion cloths, emu oils, mineral makeup and cosmetic brushes.  I won't sell any product that I don't strongly believe in and use myself, so if it is in Village Boutique, I believe in it and recommend it.

Three years ago I was lucky enough to discover European Bare Minerals.  That was love at first sight! I had been using the popular brand of Bare Minerals seen on infomercials, and I really wanted to love it as much as everyone else seemed to, but the truth is that the well-known brand adds bismuth oxide to their products and like a lot of women, I am allergic to bismuth.  The bismuth made my skin itchy and the unnatural shine from bismuth made me look like I was going trick-or-treating.  Lots of women are allergic to bismuth oxide so I'm not sure why they add it, other than the fact that it is a cheap filler which can still technically be called a natural mineral -- but then again, so is sidewalkchalk.  Anyway, when I discovered European Bare, I was ecstatic!  European Bare doesn't contain bismuth oxide so I can wear it with no problem.  And it is good for your skin!  I was so impressed that I immediately contacted the manufacturers and asked for permission to become their sole distributor in the United States so I could share them with my others.  It was the beginning of a whole new love affair!  Today we carry the entire line of European Bare Minerals, as well as a full set of professional makeup brushes too!

Most recently we added the European Bath and Beauty products to our Boutique.  We are planning to carry the entire line of products in the near future.  So far we have the Heavenly Scented Bath Sea Salts, the Magical Sugar Scrubs (my favorite is Love Spell, while my daughter's favorite is Cherry Almond!), the Hand and Body Lotion, the Shower Gels (which are available in the most incredible variety of fragrances!) and the Restorative Shampoo and Conditioner.  We are still waiting for the new Vitamin Body Lotion and the perfumed oil roll-ons, but we expect to have those soon!

The Village Boutique really is a fun place to work and play.  My favorite part (aside from the fact that I get to be the first one to try all of the new products!) is meeting so many wonderful customers.   

Customer service is always important to me and I work hard to give each of my customers the best service I can -- from answering emails truthfully and honestly, to shipping all orders within 48 hours of receiving payment.  I work hard to keep all of my customers happy.  I don't want one-time shoppers.  I want happy, loyal customers who are so happy with my products and my service that they come back again and again.  I love my customers.  My customers are like family.  They are my friends.
