About Tony Becker Direct

Tony and Celia live in San Jose, California and share many cultural interests including arts, history and music. Tony is an entrepreneur with both marketing and engineering background and Celia is a professional researcher, genealogist, fundraiser and many other things.

Tony completed a multi-disiplinary Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Minnesota and then began a career as a design engineer for medical devices. This lead him to Silicon Valley where he was a founding member of a medical device company, then a founder of OEM manufacturer of silicon chips for medical device companies, holding positions in engineering, marketing, sales, and management. Tony is currently a professional researcher in the field of intellectual property litigation. Tony's mother and grandmother were musicians, and he is very active as a traditional musician, performing music of his forebearers in Ireland, Austria, Scotland, and Wales in sessions with like minded musicians.

Celia is from a Hungarian and Scots-Irish, American family. She completed a Master's program as an undergrad with 4 fields: history; art history; philosophy; anthropology, including cultural anthropology, cooperation and change at the University of Minnesota, and began her career with 2 years in a variety of capacities at Minneapolis Art Institute, including cataloging and indentifying thousands of art objects and historic artifacts. Additional post-grad studies in business lead to a second career in diverse research and analysis over the past 35 years, including manufacturing development in international business, non-profit management, marketing and PR, and has served as a director of both arts and other non-profit groups.

Her avocation in Geology, Mineralogy and Gemology studies and loves of history and historical decorative arts combined with practical objects has lead a fascination with glass, pottery, ceramic, porcelain, colored gems and crystalline minerals (something of a human magpie).

Celia has been a family historian 40 years, dealing with dozens of strong-willed, cousins and their overstuffed attics and cellars. Tony has sold hundreds of items on Craigslist since 2001, (because it's free) and together Tony and Celia are expanding their sales and marketing to IOffer.
