SHADES OF YESTERDAY!
A UNIQUE LITTLE STORE FULL OF HANDCRAFTED ITEMS & ITEMS FROM THE PAST!
Over ten years ago my hubby and I decided to move from one side of the country to another. We sold just about everything we could so when we arrived at our new home we were without furniture. With little money to purchase brand new furniture we discovered antique auctions! One of my favorite things to do.........so addictive!
I purchased some wonderful old lamps but found that none of them came with shades. My quest to find shades led me to a fine gift store that had beautiful Victorian shades but the $400-$500 price range was just a bit too steep for us.
SHADES OF YESTERDAY was born as a result. I was determined to make my own shades and over the years I have fine turned my craft. I started with handcrafted Victorian shades and expanded to unique tapestries and velvets. I will update a brand new shade to go with today's trends. Much of my work is custom but I do enjoy attending craft fairs,etc.
My love of the Christmas holiday season seems to be a natural extension of my need to be creative. I love to create beautiful wreaths as well as other unique/one of a kind crafts that are handmade. My work has been described as "Simple, yet Elegant" and tend to have a "days gone by feel" . I have never sold my handywork online but now feel it's time. I enjoy creating items for my customers and I work very hard to ensure that they are happy.
As a result of buying furniture and lamps at antique auctions we ended up purchases other items as well. I did say it was addictive! We continue to add to our collections (hubby collects old fishing gear) so sometimes we need to make room. We will be adding those items to SHADES OF YESTERDAY, as well.

Because of the size of some of my items and the cost of shipping I have tried to keep my prices as low as possible. It may seem that the shipping cost is extremely high but I have reduced my items with that in mind.
