My Blogs
A long and strange summer ...
Mood:
This is my first blog entry and I'm stealing time away from other obligations just to write it. It's been a very long and hectic summer and it's showing no signs of abating any time soon.
My daughter graduated high school the beginning of June -- number 4 in her class and with very high honors (yes, I'm bragging). However, the week before graduation, my husband fell and splintered his right ankle, so he went to graduation in a wheelchair with an external fixator on his leg. The following week, we discovered that even that much activity was too much. Not only had he undone everything the surgeons had fixed, he had done additional damage.
That led to two more surgeries (one for the insertion of plates and screws in his ankle) and a week in the hospital, followed by him coming home in a rigid cast.
Not to bore anyone with the minutia -- lets just say it's been two months now and he's still not allowed to put any weight on it and won't be for at least another month.
