Topic: Digital Delivery SHUT DOWN on ebay!
-
discussion on how ebay is putting people out of business with this new policy...
"Starting March 31st, listings that contain content that can be digitally downloaded or transferred must be listed in the Classified Ad Format in the Everything Else>Information Products category only. All listings for digital items outside of that category will be considered a policy violation."

It is rediculous how ebay is pushing the small sellers out of the site. I sincierly feel bad for those who made a decent living selling ebooks.

It surprises me because there are literally thousands of ebook listings, and thousands (i'm sure) of their precious PowerSellers who sell only ebooks and other digital items. I guess they think all the digital stuff is 'garage sale' trash too.
It is so painfully obvious that eBay just no longer gives a $h1t.

You are right, ebay doesn't give a sh*t !!! There are going to be alot of people out of business because of this but to give the individuals 7 days is WRONG!!! I really don't get this!.!.!.! WHAT ARE THEY THINKING>!>!>!>!

Oh, that's easy. They're thinking only of themselves.

They didn't give us 7 days, they gave us NO days. I was prevented from relisting a program 2 hours BEFORE the announcement went up.
I was on the phone with FeePay in 2.3 seconds and the rep couldn't even FIND any announcement.
It came out two hours later.
They then started taking my digital download information out of anything I revised, such as changing the price or # of days to make them end before the last day.
I wasted my time talking to Seller Outreach, who suggest I go BACK to CD's (yeah right), who told me how great it would be to do that again. Uh huh.
We had 8500+ fb and 4.
4.9 DSR's across the board and we were put out of business with NO notice.
Ebay has done some incredibly despicable things to sellers in the past, but this simply takes the cake.
I have removed almost all my tangible goods from Ebay and will remove my digital items by the 30th because they've made it clear that ON the 31st, they'll take them down FOR YOU and 'refund your fees'.
What they don't say is that when they do that FOR you, they will remove all your fb for those listings & email all your customers to tell them you're some sort of louse whose listing was removed.
If you have digital items up on Ebay, close them yourself on the 30th or you will lose all your positives for those items. Some of mine had 20 or more sales on them.
NO WAY is Ebay taking away my feedback for those items or making it impossible for me to see my sales history.
I have spent the last day or so copying my html off each listing so that I can transfer them where I need to go.
What I don't know is if IOffer will even accept our products or have any sort of digital delivery system in place.
I know that (Removed by iOffer) and (Removed by iOffer) don't.
Oh, and figuress...I looked up former Ebay sellers here and the first item I clicked on was a horribly obvious fraudulent listing from a 4 fb member selling Nanos at under wholesale.
You just can't escape the fraudsters, can you?
Oh, and I'm media-mover on Ebay, not mediamover.
Put the hyphen in. Mabye I should have reg'd it the same way here, but it shouldn't matter if I move my fb over, it will still show up.

omg that is absolutely horrible. I have a friend who sells graphic design and ebooks on eBay. She's got her store on vacation right now...will spread the word. Thanks for sharing that, good luck to you.

It really effected my business as I sell custom Auction templates. Now I have to send them on CD's. I did a classified add but it's only been viewed 3 times. I was averaging sales of at least 10 template's a day and now that I have to put them on CD's, it's about 5 template's a week that I've sold.
I tried listing them on here but my whole HTML codes get's screwed up. It doesn't show any of my outside borders...I've been working on it for over 2 hours and still can't get the borders to show up. They look great on HTML practice boards but not on ioffer...I emailed customer service to see if they could come up with a solution...I'm sick of ebay...I just wonder what ebay has in store next??

List as many listings as posible. I sold 100% digital items, and I sold up to $250 in one day. On here I sell $70 in one month. Keep at it. Since listings are free, spam iOffer with your digital stuff and put keywords in that box, like LV, Gucci, Coach, since this site is fake bags heavy. It works but don't expect sales like ebay. Also I think the html thing is resolved now. Good Luck
