    Hello,
Can anyone tell me if this piece is reall a McCoy flower bowl ornament.
According to the McCoy pottery collectors reference and value guide Hanson, Nissen, Hanson, the only way to identify them is from the bottom where the mold is cored out. Has anyone seen this piece before?

Did you find the SHAPE in one of the books? Almost any McCoy ever made has been documented because catalogs and employees have been available. If you can't find the shape, then it probably isn't the real McCoy.

Then, look at the CLAY. Is the clay the yellow of Ohio clay? Does it look like other pieces you own?

Then the GLAZE. Does it look like the McCoy glaze, i.e. the color, the feel, the texture?

    Good luck!
