Topic: Opinion of New Orleans

I lived in the south for many years and visited New Orleans several times. I listen to all the media reports on the future of New Orleans and to tell the truth, the media reports scare me about anyone wanting to return there. Of course, I don't know if we can trust the media, but I have heard recently that eventually New Orleans will become an island because it is so much lower than sea level. How do you feel about returning to your home in New Orleans?

I am here now, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Many have not and will not return. That sucks, but I can't really blame them. This became a chance for alot of people who were otherwise 'stuck' here to get out.
The coast erodes so fast here. Funding for that and the levees have been lobbied in Washington for a long time. It was never givin much priority, but that might change now.
