Topic: New ebay policy re:seller feedback
-
Since ebay has changed their system and now they will not allow sellers to leave -feedback. Along with the fee increase, I am now done and was waiting for a buyer to make an opportunity for new feedback changes. I had sold 2 shirts and the same day the buyer tries to extort me to give him a refund WITHOUT sending back the shirts or he will leave negative feedback. None the less I put in a paypal claim. And the buyer did leave negative feedback and now my money is on hold until paypal resolves the issue. I have never had a -every, and i'm over 500+ ratings strong.Ebay will fold soon. There are other sites out there as well; (REMOVED BY IOFFER) being a free store and is really nice. Has anyone else been extorted on ebay yet? I knew this would happen, now I am not going to use my ebay account to sell EVER!

Do an online search and you will find that there is a class action against eBay and PayPal. However I have yet to find one on each separately.
Payment issues now go through PayPal; not eBay. And, at one point in time eBay was striving to force sellers to use PayPal which is a monopoly and illegal for a public company.
Also, I went to Google for my merchant system and ebay would shut down ads with the word Google in them. I wrote eBay and advised them that every ad they shut down will not be relisted. Thus, they re-posted my ads.

What is google checkout? Is it different than paypal but similar? I don't like ebay or paypal, so expensive. Also paypal sides with buyer.

Google Checkout is similiar to Paypal...Yet are different. Google Checkout automatically puts the money you receive into the bank account you specify...where Paypal has you request to put money into your specified account. They do also charge a percentage, I forget how much, but believe it is less than Paypal.
I just signed up for Google Checkout and had one buyer use it...It was pretty simple and straight forward. They walk you through everything...with Google Checkout you do have to go through the process step by step, authorizing the buyers card, but all in all it was a good experience for me.
It also gives an alternative payment method that is quicker than a money order or check.
Hope that helps!!

HI: I am just about to sign up for google checkout--it is cheaper than paypal. I have a question for you: Do you use google base store connector? I used it when I had an ebay store and I had no problems transfering my items, but when I try to transfer my items from ioffer to googlebase, I am getting errors. what do you type in: www. ???
Thanks!

I believe the google checkout fee is 2% + .20 per transaction. Paypal fees vary depending upon what the buyer uses for payment, meaning their paypal balance, debit card or credit card.
When using googlebase with items transferred from ebay there are alot of things that can cause errors. I personally just started over with my listings instead of using mr grabber. Google will reject anything that has boilerplate in it: Payment & Shipping in your item descriptions are boilerplate. Here at iOffer everything that is uploaded to googlebase has to be plain and simple....no store policies listed in the description. Googlebase only wants the description of the item. You can put store policies on the store policies page here, that's what I did.
There is a Google Help Club: 9181 and the link to googlebase upload: googlebase
Hope this helps!!

Thanks, heyandwow! I think I have to save my listings into a file first, then upload them. They worked fine when I uploaded them from ebay, so they should work here.
Thanks and good luck!
