This framed and matted watercolor on paper measures 9 1/2" X 13 1/2". It seems to date from the late 1960's or 1970's.
George A. Fish (1893-1993) was born in Cornwall, England; though he spent most of his life (and died) in New Jersey.
He studied at Art Students League (NYC), Grand Central School (Academy) of Art and the National Academy of Design School (NYC).
He was a member of the Allied Artists of America, American Artists Professional League, American Water Color Society, Painters in Water Color and the Salmagundi Club (NYC).
He exhibited at the following: Grand Central Art Galleries (NYC), Allied Artists of America, American Artists Professional League, American Water Color Society, Painters in Water Colo, Audubon Society of Artists, National Academy of Design, National Arts Club, the Salmagundi Club (NYC), National Arts Club (NYC) and Lynchburg (VA) Art Center.
He was the winner of the Emily Lowe Memorial Award, Audubon Artists.
He often worked in watercolors and was known for landcapes, seascapes and marines.
