The Family UK BBC Wilkins Family Documentary 1974 4dvds

Created by the BBC in 1974 as the UK version of the ground-breaking US fly-on-the-wall documentary The American Family (1973), The Family follows the nine members of the working class Wilkins family -- father, mother, older daughter and her boyfriend, younger daughter, older son plus his wife and baby, younger son -- who all live under one roof in Reading, England. The original series was twelve 30 minute episodes. This set was created from vhs recordings of the rebroadcast in 1984 which included an extra 45 minute episode about where they were now.

This set includes all 12 original parts plus the 1984 update on 4 dvds. For the most part the picture is excellent, but does reflect the age and condition of the tapes it was preserved on.

The series has never been officially released on dvd.
