Item Description
SILENT SHORT FILM COLLECTION
This is a collection, over 6 discs, of short silent films
starting from 1894 and finishing with the only "talkie" of the set
in 1931.  The likes of Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Fatty Arbuckle,
Harold Lloyd and the like are not included here - these are all
films that you won't find on your run of the mill collection of
silent film shorts!  Print quality ranges from ** to *****.
Discs will be sent in plain white sleeves and without
artwork.  Each film is individually accessible through the DVD
menu.
Each of the 6 discs runs for approximately 180
minutes, resulting in around 18 hours of classic short silent
films.  63 films are included in all, with stars including Max
Linder, Oliver Hardy, Stan Laurel, Gloria Swanson, Rudolph
Valentino, Louise Brooks, William S Hart, Billy West and Johnny
Arthur.  Directors include Alice Guy Blache, Mack Sennett,
Abel Gance, D W Griffith and Thomas Ince.  The films come from
America in the main, but with other movies originating from
France, Britain, Holland and even China.  A great
introduction to silent film.
The screen grab accompanying this listing is from The Land
Before Sunset (1912) and is from the print you will
receive.
