I WAS TOLD THE MAKER P.LEPE WAS FROM THE 19TH CENTURY.  IT HAS ENGRAVING ON BOTH SIDES AND MAKERS INITIALS.IT IS 11 1/2" LONG W/ 7" BLADE. NOT SURE WHAT HANDLE IS MADE OF... EBONY, CHERRYWOOD MAYBE? HAS SOME AREAS THAT A BUG OR WORM HAD BEEN EATING IT. STRANGE! WOULD BE A FINE GO FOR ANY COLLECTOR INTERESTED IN THE CALIFORNIA GOLD RUSH, TEXAS RANGERS , MEXICAN AMERICAN WAR ETC.THE PICTURES SHOULD DESCRIBE THE CONDITION. HAS ORIGINAL SHEATH. FATHER PASSED IN 1998 AND I'VE HAD IT WRAPPED IN CLOTH SINCE SO I CAN'T ACCOUNT FOR ITS CONDITION. I DO KNOW ITS EXTREMELY RARE. GOOGLE RESEARCH TELLS ME THEY HAVE SOLD FOR UP TO $500.00 !!!!
