SYNOPSIS:
Produced during the glory days of the made-for-television movie, this film depicts the struggle of a difficult man, left to his own devices in the desert. Hill plays a wealthy, but obstinate, heavy-drinking and bitter man who is on a trip into the desert with his wife and their guide to examine a potential mine. When he falls from his horse and breaks his leg severely, the wife (Diana Muldaur) and the guide (James Stacy) leave him with some water and supplies and ride back for help. However, realizing this is a golden chance to be rid of Hill, Muldaur suggests that she and Stacy leave him in the desert to die of exposure and starvation! She offers herself and her prospective inheritance as the reward for his going along with the plan. While she and Stacy wonder about the status of their scheme as they lollygag around the swimming pool, Hill realizes what has happened and decides he is not going to be done in quite that easily. He sets his own leg using supplies that the duo has left behind and begins the arduous trek back to the civilized world. Meanwhile, his business associate (Macdonald Carey) wonders what's going on and local sheriff (Michael Ansara) keeps looking for him (even several weeks after the disappearance!) Hill is terrific as the nasty grouch who begins to find inner strength and, eventually, inner peace through his harrowing ordeal. Muldaur, an actress who effortlessly projected cool calculation, does a great job as well. She isn't the stunning siren that, perhaps, might be a more obvious lure for Stacy, but her money and her skill as a lover certainly make up for that. Stacy is laconic and quite understated, though that makes him somewhat more believable. Kitsch fans will enjoy checking out Muldaur's 70's clothing and home furnishings while scenery aficionados will appreciate the desert location filming.

The film is essentially a remake of the 1953 theatrical film "Inferno" which starred Rhonda Fleming and Robert Ryan (which is also available through us)

FIVE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD BUY FROM US:

1. VIDEO QUALITY IS ACCURATELY REPRESENTED BY THE ACTUAL SCREENSHOTS
Every screenshot you see comes from the actual DVD we are offering (as opposed to a movie poster, a random stock photo of one of the stars, a single screenshot of the title frame, or no screenshot at all).

2. WE TAKE EXTRA STEPS TO ENSURE YOU WILL RECEIVE THE BEST QUALITY VERSION AVAILABLE
Every effort is made to acquire the highest quality original video source (as opposed to a multi-generated copy). If necessary, steps are taken to correctly restore the source footage to improve the video (color correction, contrast, etc) or audio quality of any given recording. We often acquire up to 3 or 4 different versions of a title in an effort to find the best quality. Therefore, you won't need to spend more time or money in order to find a better version.

3. FAST, EFFICIENT CUSTOMER SERVICE & DELIVERY
Orders are mailed out within 2 business days after receiving payment (no wondering about when or if your item was sent - or waiting 2 weeks or more to get your order). You can also expect prompt responses to any emails or questions you might have pre or post-sale.

4. TOP-RATED TAIYO YUDEN DVD MEDIA IS USED IN ALL CASES
This is widely considered the best quality media brand in terms of long term reliability, as well as the most universally compatible (unlike cheaper, generic media that will likely cause playback problems in the future).

5. ALL DVDs FEATURE INKJET PRINTED DISC-TOP TITLES, POLY JEWEL CASES AND SECURE PACKAGING
We do our own disc-top printing to make the DVDs themselves more attractive and easily identifiable (no plain discs or titles written with a Sharpie, or stick-on labels that can cause playback problems). All of the DVDs are housed in slimline poly jewel cases (half the size of a regular CD case) and are mailed to you in rigid cardboard box mailers designed to accommodate this media (no discs in paper sleeves sent to you in flimsy paper envelopes). Please note that while the DVDs themselves have disc-top labeling, we do not provide insert-sleeve artwork for any of the titles offered. We prefer to spend our time acquiring, editing, and perfecting the actual video quality, rather than creating photocopied inserts.
NOTE: When ordering 4 or more DVDs, the discs will be mailed in black paper disc sleeves.
