This is another item listed by Mid-American Heritage Preservation Foundation, Inc. (MAHP), a Non for Profit 501(c)3 Organzation. We raise funds through eBay sales of items from our local history preservation efforts, with this we can buy materials needed for future presevation projects.  This is an original production by our company, and the auction is for a new, unused DVD with NEVER SEEN BEFORE FOOTAGE of the Hammond,Indiana area from the Decade of the 1960's;created here in our offices.

This is another Mid-American Heritage Preservation Foundation, Inc. original production showing Hammond in the 1960's,a 2 hour program with 10 chapters of memories on this DVD of color Footage from 1961 to 1969 of HAMMOND,INDIANA.CHAPTER#1 is 1961 Starts out with a Carnival at the Hammond Fair Grounds, (Where Spohn School is today) and from their Travel down Calumet Ave, South to 165th St,and see all the changes from years past..Next Hohman Ave, the old Buildings are shown from the early 60's, Hammond animal Society has a pet show, as well as Edison park in 1967.  And all in between, great local Hammond footage, from the era, also you Will get on this Video, the Campign trail of Robert Kennedy, as he Campigns thru Hammond in 1968.  With star Paul Newman who stops traffic on Hohman Ave w/megaphone, in front of the Bootery, as well as the Kennedy Wives, who appear at a local Dry cleaners, to promote Kennedy in 1968,next see the photo shots of the businesses that left Hammond,Indiana in 1968-69,it happened so quick,and soon residents were using local shopping malls to buy,not Downtown---BUT THATS NOT IT---Bonus footage has been added,with origanal music broadcast as it was aired on WJOB on AM RADIO in your car from 1967,so not only do you get,to see the sites of Downtown Hammond,Indiana ,you also here the music and commercials with Jan Gabriel---- ,NEXT CHAPTER#2 in this DVD shows Halloween gathering at Lincoln school gym,and shows many colorful costumes,the kids make a parade and travel near Borden Dairy,and see the special fall parade on State Street in Hammond,see the stores,Lords Shoes,PLA-TIME Toys,and many more,see the building of the Minas Parking Garage in the background as they appeared in this early 60's parade,also see more parade footage from Highland St and Sohl Street,------ NEXT CHAPTER#3- is dedicated from the HESSVILLE,INDIANA area,early sceens of 165th and Grand,lots of empty lots,trees and trails,and an old Barn off of Orchard Drive,See Morton High School,The Building of the New BRIAR EAST SHOPPING CENTER off of 196th st in Hessville,See the building of the CARNEY DAIRY FOOD STORE on Orchard Drive(Now Renaldos Pizza),as you hear WJOB radio from the 1960's....NEXT CHAPTER#4 - Hammond Police Day 1967,meet and greet,the Hammond Police officers and take a tour thru the police staion as it was in City Hall in this color film of 1967... NEXT CHAPTER#5 is The Blizzard of 1967 clips that promotes the new 30year dvd that will be released 2007,it has alot of Hammond shots of the Blizzard,and how it stopped a city in its tracks,and snowed for 3 days...NEXT CHAPTER#6 Hammond Tour,This clip is Great,Shows and exit sign from the toll road "HAMMOND EXIT" then takes you to 119th st and Calumet and the Clark gas station.Park View Foods,Shot from the Standard station(Now a Winery),near Clark High School,for a look around Robertsdale these are the first sceens of how the snow was coming down in that Blizzard of 67,see Forsythe Park,Robertsdale Little League,Amaizo old warehouse,Lever Brothers,also shows the TOPPS DEPT STORE,Indianapolis Blvd Highland,Indiana,Last sceens old the MONON LINE comind thru Downtown Hammond too the 1960's Depot on Lyman Street,,also Drive Down Calumet Near the OUTDOOR 41 Drive Inn Theater,old slag heap,(LOST MARSH GOLF),see a 1960's House Decorated for Christmas,Drive Downtown Hammond,and waiting for a 1960's freight train,cant fast forward that in real life, Then Take a Cruise in DOWNTOWN HAMMOND,see Goldblatts,Woolwoths,Cousins Jeweler,than head up to Homan Ave to Sheffield,See the OUTDOOR 41 SIGN,and visit Wolf Lake Beach packed with swimmers,boaters,and well used,ahh memories....NEXT CHAPTER#7 HAMMOND LOYALTY DAY PARADE on homan ave color footage shows goldblatts,Nipsco building,Bank Calumet,Paramont Theater and inside the basement,the ushers,and cashier and other theater personal,this a great look off old posters on the wall and fun in 1962 also in color.... CHAPTER 8 is a production,titled -THIS IS HAMMOND- produced for promotion of the city of hammond in 1967,this film strip with sound record almost makes you feel your watching it at school,but the dvd bings back this producion that has neve been released,this production itself is 30 minutes,and tells the History of Hammond from its earliest days to present day 1967,this ahs many rare sceens of Buildings,streets,and facts of our City of Hammond,Indiana ALSO See an Color film of Christmas parade from 1967,in front of Goldblatts,,,,What a collection of memories from the decade of the 1960's ALL IN COLOR NOW ON DVD, Chapter #9 shows promos of our other INDIANA HISTORICAL PRODUCTIONS,,,,Chapter#10 HAMMOND PHOTO MEMORIES 19 to the END.. you will Love all these Memories from the past almost 2 hrs of it,if you bought the VHS,you will love this neww DVD, buyer must include $3 for shipping.
