The sound has had restoration but some of the tracks are still not perfect and are left with some hiss or surface noise. Many listeners will find that the power and rarity of this music far outweighs such aesthetic inconveniences.       These are all original recordings which are now in the public domain (music whose copyright has expired). This music can be used by anyone for any purpose. In the UK, copyright in a sound recording expires 50 years after the end of the calendar year of the date of recording. For example: A sound recording made on 3rd October 1958 will enter the public domain on 1st January 2009. Save to your hard drive and listen to them on your computer, load to your Ipod or mp3 player, play on certain DVD players with mp3 compatibility (look for mp3 logo).
