Abies lasiocarpa 'Arizona Glauca Compacta' is a Dwarf and compact version of the Blue Alpine Fir aka Dwarf Rocky Mountain Fir. Needles are a striking silver-blue, bark is light, almost white. The 2- to 4-inch cones are dark purple and cylindrical. Native from Alaska to Oregon, Utah and northern New Mexico. This fir grows best in an acidic soil and cooler climates. 'Glauca Compacta Blue' has needles of a soft blue color and grows in a pyramid-like habit. It has dense foliage on tiered, horizontal branches.Very slow growing. Use as colorful patio plant, small landscape feature, Bonsai or in larger rock garden.
