Item Description
During August/September 1949 Al Jolson went out on personal
tour of major Cities to promote his 2nd Biopix movie "Jolson Sings
Again", In Chicago he was invited to sing at the Chicagolands Music
Festival held at Soldier Field. Newsreel film was shot of part of
Jolson's performance and believed telecast. This is the most
complete version of Jolson's performance and was transferred to DVD
from the original news reel film, it has been re-edited and
remastered for DVD quality. This is probably the only sound film of
Jolson performing live in existence. This is Jolson at his very
best, appearing live before a huge audience, songs are "California
here I come", April Showers" and "My Mammy", running time is about
8 minutes only, but in that time you experience a real live Jolson
Performance, this one you will not forget in a hurry!! To anyone
who has any doubts about Jolson, you will be in no doubt whatsoever
that he was as he claimed "The worlds greatest entertainer", and
this was in 1949, a year before he died!!!!..Highly recommended-
