Ptoley III, Euergetes ruled Egypt from 246 to 221 B.C. He was the son of Ptolemy II and his father' first wife Euergetes. Ptolemy II invaded the Seleukid empire, Ptolemy's wife, Berenike II, ruled in his absence. Under Ptolemy II the Empire reached its height in international relations. The obverse of this replica of a gold octadraham shows the conjoined busts of Ptolemy II and his second wife Arsinoe II, Ptolemy III's father and mother.
