Ptolomy II, Philadelphos was the son of Ptolomy I. ruledfrom 285 to 246 B.C. This was a long period of prosperity in the kingdom and the capital city of Alexandria. Several new capital building included the Pharos, the Museum and the Library. The obverse of gold octadrachm shows the head of Arsinoe II, the veiled head of Ptolomy's second wife. Arsinoe is wearing stephane. The reverse shows two cornucopiae bound with fillet. (Sear 7768) Each coin is stamped 'COPY' on the reverse. Payment methods: Seller accepts PayPal.
