OF THE TEXAS RANGERS

BY GEORGES E. VIRGINES

OLD TEXAS RANGER MEMORABILIA

Folks, realms have been written about the heroic deeds and flamboyant personalities that made Ranger history. Here is printed history of the Texas Rangers as very few have chronicled. Goes into detail about formation and early history naming lawmen inc. all those named below. This is

HISTORICAL BADGES

OF THE TEXAS RANGERS

by George E. Virgines

As many of you know, I specialize in finding old western stories of long ago that have been overlooked, seldom found and rarely read. Here is the story entitled “Historical Badges of the Texas Rangers,†by George E. Virgines with text and pictures concerning the rare old badges. Some of the never-to-be-forgotten names on the Texas Ranger roster are John C. Hayes, John B. Jones, Ben McCulloch, “Bigfoot†Wallace, L. N. McNelly, Rip Ford, Jim Gillett, John Hughes, Bill McDonald and Frank Hamer. There is a story on the origination of the five star badge by Charles B. Stewart and picture of a Texas Ranger badge in the carpetbag era along with history of legislation concerning the Texas Rangers. There is a picture of the special badge issued for the first and only time that all Rangers appeared together. There are lots of stories of rangers recited in this story that I had not found before. You will love it as it was published in this old western magazine of many years ago. My wife kids me that after I fine a piece I like, buy it, read it, research it, take a picture, scan it, write the blurb, pay the EBay entry fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE THIS OLD WESTERN HISTORY. What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old western magazine of many years ago. The issue is in good condition, the cover is pristine and in vibrant color.

Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell.

Humbly, I am trying to keep our history alive.

I hope you appreciate the effort.
