ASTAIRE & ROGERS:

---------------------------------------------
This DVD-R contains two rare programs
having to do with the ultimate dance team
in movie history. Prominently featured also is the dance director and choreographer
Hermes Pan who was, as some have said, Fred’s alter-ego. He was the
sounding board for nearly all their visionary creations.

Part 1: (65 min.-1988 )
‘LET’S FACE THE MUSIC AND DANCE’
Because the film clips used were, sadly, before the studios had considered
digitally remastering the classic films of that era, the picture quality
varies and rates a 7 of 10. The content is excellent. .Sound is good .

Part 2: ( 43 min. – 1988
*‘FRED ON GINGER ; GINBER ON FRED’
Once again we are treated to Hermes Pan’s‘scoops’ about Fred and
Ginger. Gratefully, we are also treated to interviews with both
stars. We are fortunate, that in their advanced years, Fred
and Ginger shed light not only on their personal/professional
relationship but recount many details on the actual
filming of their dance sequences. True gems, here!
They put to rest many of the false rumors and gossip
that for years, circulated about.
At the closing, Fred is asked if he ever thought his
dancing in films might live on and be viewed as ‘historic’.
He suggests.. ‘I only did it for the money’.
What honesty..and the world loved him for it!
(( Picture quality is 8 of 10. Sound is good ))

Part 3 - (5 min.)
Clips from TV newscasts on the passing of Ginger Rogers April 25, 1995
at age 84 .(( Fred died on June 22, 1987, aged 88.))
