This Romantic,action Story starts in Salem, Massachusetts, 1800's as Mountaineer Jason Starbuck rides into town with furs to sell and dreams to fulfill. He falls in love with Roxana (Fleming) and when she is kidnapped and taken to Morocco, he must follow and save her.   Yankee Pasha is a great action, adventure and romantic movie with Chandler as Jason Starbuck, the finest marksman and sharpshooter known.  He sprints into action when Roxana is kidnapped by Barbary Pirates.  Pursuing the villians all the way to Morocco, Jason gains the confidence of sultan Lee J. Cobb, who helps him thwart the megalomanic machinations of Omar-If-Din (Bart Roberts).  Mamie Van Doren is better than usual in her role as a pampered sultan's harem girl who developes a chrush on stalwart Jason.  Yankee Pasha devotes plenty of screen time to the 1954 Miss Universe pageant entrants including such now forgotten lovlies as Christiane Martel and Kinuko Ito, also Maxine Morgan. A great old movie,  one not to be missed by fans of Chandler and Fleming.  

Jeff Chandler, Rhonda Fleming, Mamie Van Doren, Hal March , Rex Reason, Philip Van Zandt, Lee J. Cobb, Benny Rubin and a hugh cast in this film directed by Joseph Pevney.
