WWI Postcard Artist Signed American Flag 1918

The following listing is for a wonderful postcard by a famous French artist, Andre' Helle'. I found him listed in a roster of 'artists featured in the Georges Wague Pierrot Postcard Collection. Apparently a group of well known French artists were called upon to assist in mobilizing the society by creating poster art and post cards, with powerful visual and verbal images of a patriotic nature, during the Great War, or World War I, This particular one is from 1918, and is a wonderfully colorful affair, depicting a soldier holding hands with two small children, with the American Flag as a backdrop. The postcard name is 'LE GRAND AMI', or THE GREAT FRIEND', which I can only assume refers to America's efforts as allies to France. There is a personal message, written to someone in Millbrook, NY (Dutchess County), most of which I can barely make out. The one thing I can definitely read is this, 'You see how the French love our soldiers!'. The postcard has a 15c cent? stamp, which says 'REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE', with a wonderful graphic that includes a woman standing before a sunrise. It measures 5 1/2" by 3 5/8" and is in good condition, having only a bit of bending and minimal travel-wear. This is truly a wonderful treasure from a local collection where it was located for many years, and is fresh to the market!!

I keep all correspondence and photos until either an eternity has passed, or you let me know all has gone well, in case of problems, damage, etc. Due to the charges for image hosting, it's essential that I'm able to delete photos I no longer need. Buyer pays fixed shipping costs and insurance. This figure is based on actual shipping (in most cases, it is actual shipping). I use the term 'fixed' only because there are occasional discrepancies between my scale and that of the Post Office, which is digital. Money orders and Paypal ship immediately; allow 10 business days for personal checks to clear before shipping.
