In mint condition, this planter is square and measures 8" by 3 1/8" deep. It is a rough speckled or splattered texture of lighter blue over a deep blue or black with a gold painted. base. It is marked on the bottom - Shawnee USA 1819 (the last number is not very clear so it could also be a 2 or a 3 or a 4 or a 5).

It's basic, simple lines and color will go with any decor. There is some dark greenish mottling on the base that may be from splattered paint, possibly during manufacturing.
