This is a nineteenth Century Thimble Holder and Needle Case Kit, and comes with an exact replica of instructions taken from Peterson's Magazine, 1864. The same type of thimble holder/needle case was also featured in Godey's Ladies' Book in 1861, although I don't know which month it appeared. Included in the kit are cardboard for soles of shoe and vamp, fabric, wool for needle leaf, cord/ribbon trim, and gimp. All you'll need to provide is thread and small binder clips. A perfect addition to any lady's sewing kit! The shoes in the picture are for display only, and not included in the kit, although finished examples are available for sale at $20.00 + $4.00 s/h.
