RETURN TO  MAYBERRY

In 1986 the Andy Griffith gang stared in a 2 hour special bring back all the gang….Barney, Opie, Goober, Gomer, Howard and even Ernest.  This is truly a rare treat to revisit Mayberry.  Andy has been away for several years, has married and enjoys his new job.  Upon returning to Mayberry he finds that Barney is running for sheriff of Mayberry and begins to yarn for his old job.

Meanwhile once all the greetings and chucklings are out of the way, he's just in time to deliver Opie's child, become involved in the election of a new sheriff and figure out just what's going on down at Myer's Lake, where sightings of North Carolina's answer to the Loch Ness monster have been reported.

Following this nostalgic trip we jump forward to 2003 for

MAYBERRY REMEMBERED

Andy Griffith, Ron Howard, Rodney Dillard, Don Knotts sat in their court room set where the show was made. They talked about the show and how the show affected their lives and how others react to them when they see them now. Archive footage was shown of their favorite moments and of those who had died that were part of the show. Ron Howard walked with Andy Griffith on the road that opened the show. Ron, at age 49 whistled the theme song and threw the rock just as he did as a little boy, and comparative footage was shown. After they finished talking they all hugged and told they loved one another. Andy Griffith turned the lights out and the show ended.

This great look in the past has been preserved exactly as it was originally broadcast complete with the original network commercials.  (note:  the movie RETURN TO MAYBERRY is commercial free)
