This early 1900's dough bowl is in wonderful condition and appears to have had little use. It was hand carved and notice the finger notches in the back side as shown! It measures about 18" x 9" and 3" deep. They were used to kneed and raise dough for bread...and this one is in remarkable condition! And is really well made - smooth sanded and does not appear to have had any knives marr the interior, like many multi-use wooden bowls show. Sorry the interior photo was lost in the transfer from my old Rubylane shop- I will correct this soon! Many of these bowls show to be worth several Hundred in the books [some list at 12-1500!]... but I do not agree with everything I read! This came from an old German Couples things, and they cared for their things ...they told me it was turn of the century [and they were not the sort of people that ever lied]... a buyer told me she does not believe it to be this old and sent it back to me after purchasing it[but has not told me why yet & I will update this ad when and if I hear from her again & I am still a bit surprised it was sent back for a refund- but also understand that seeing a photo and actually holding something in your hands are sometimes 2 different things and respected her right to return for a refund...If anyone can shed any light on this particular type of bowl - feel free to enlighten me, as I would never intentionally listed anything wrong].
