All About Tankless Water Heaters  

Tankless water heaters are the "hottest" small home appliance on the market these days. They offer almost unlimited hot water and produce substantial savings in electricity costs ( up to 50% on conventional tank systems), since you're not paying to keep a 75-gallon tank of water hot all day long.
Tankless water heaters have been around for decades and are common in Europe and Japan. Their higher price tag, though, has made it tougher for tankless water heaters to compete in the North American market. That has changed, however, thanks to price reductions and widespread use of tankless heaters in hotel rooms, hospitals and other commercial operations.

The technology behind tankless water heaters is amazingly simple.
  • Water passes through a set of coils that function like a boiler.
  • A computer sensor ignites a burner, which heats the coils.
  • Water heats up within seconds.
  • The system shuts off when the water flow ends.

    Tankless water heaters are about the size of a small suit case, so don't take up much room. Home models typically can generate 180 to 500 gallons of hot water an hour - an adequate supply, given that an average shower consumes only 20 gallons!

    Tankless water heaters generally cost about three times as much as conventional water heaters, with prices ranging from about $500 to $1500 for home models. However, there are huge savings to be gained on electricity or gas costs, since conventional water heaters waste up to half of their energy through "standby heat loss" - the cost of heating water you never use! Many homeowners swear that tankless water heaters pay for themselves in 2 to 3 years  - and won't ever rust out and need to be replaced.

This Unit because of its compact size and little water pressure required is Ideal for RV's, Camping & Cabins. The Arizbao JSD12 may not be suitable for Cold Winter climates if very hot water is required.

The Arizbao JSD12 requires NO STANDING PILOT so expect to save up to 25% in gas consumption on older pilot lighted units

Tankless systems can be installed centrally, but they are more valuable in a remote part of the house. Having one at the point of use will minimize pipe runs from the main storage water heater to the tap, saving water and reducing plumbing costs. Also, their small size lets you fit them into tight spaces. A tankless water heater is a good option for a small household, in a vacation home, or as a backup system for a solar water heater. In addition, it can sometimes be useful to install one as a booster heater for a dishwasher, so you can keep your storage water heater set at a lower temperature. It can be simultaneously hooked to a second outlet eg: sink but the water pressure would be reduced if used together. A flue should be installed on this unit either vertical or horizontal through a wall. If installed horizontal note - 3ft vertical to 1ft horizontal.
