After her father's death, Tobi, a Midwestern teenage girl (Amanda Wyss) travels to San Francisco to look up the mother she never knew, Ellen Blake (Loni Anderson).  Tobi  sets up camp on Ellen’s doorstep, only to discover that Miss Blake is a high-priced call girl who is both unable and unwilling to alter her lucrative lifestyle to become a regular mother.
