This TV Special is the story of a young woman that was diagnosed with bone cancer and died aged 20 years old.  She left behind a husband and a two year old daughter, and a journal of tape-recordings of her life as a young woman, and a mother, in love and dying.

This is the sequel to the Sunshine movie, 6-7 years later.  The husband is struggling to cope without his wife but wants to do the best for his daughter.  He returns to spend Christmas with his parents even though his mother has been fighting him to gain custody of his daughter, her grandchild.
