On the outside of the ring there is "Ger Rune" which stands for community spirit, the "Hakenkreuz" which was the pagan Germanic tribes symbol of Thor, God of Thunder, the "Heilszeichen" which embodies faith and was used as a symbol of its members loyalty and it also made an appearance at weddings.

1944 was the year when the last honor rings were awarded to truly loyal people, who remained true to their cause to the last, and Herr Geldern was among them, as inscribed inside the ring. The cause was already lost, and those were the last awards issued ever. While the hope for a memorial dedicated to war heroes in Austrian mountains was lost forever.

The ring size is 20,4mm or 10¾ (US standart).
