This is the original C-Band satellite broadcast of the 1985 Southern 500 at Darlington South Carolina Picture quality is excellent comes on two dvds. Flag to Flag coverage.

There's also a very nice interview with Elliott done by the late Benny Parsons a day before the race.

Since its inception in the late 1940s, NASCAR had craved the media attention lavished on stick-and-ball sports. It got that respect and attention in the Southeast, where racing ranked behind only college football. Elliott's victory at Darlington and the Winston Million changed that. Suddenly, he and stock car racing were front-page news everywhere. Sports Illustrated, noted for its disdain of stock car racing, made Elliott's big day its cover story, historic for NASCAR. ESPN was among several networks that spent days talking about the NASCAR racer and his $1 million payday.
