Dolls of the World^® celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2005, and to celebrate, the 2006 "Festivals of the World™" dolls debuted at the National Barbie^® Doll Collectors Convention earlier this year - with a live fashion show! And now, your chance to see the dolls themselves has arrived, with the release of the first two dolls in the collection.

Carnaval Barbie® Doll

The series kicks off with Carnaval Barbie^® Doll, celebrating the incredible revelry that takes over Rio de Janeiro for day after fabulous day! Popular Barbie^® Collector designer Katiana Jimenez captures the exotic, the exciting, and the extravagant spirit of Carnaval with a brown-eyed beauty of a doll. Dressed to party in a midriff-baring sequined halter and V-waist miniskirt, with a feathered headdress, arm and leg bands and golden platform shoes, Carnaval Barbie^® stands out from the party-going crowd!

Then travel from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere, to the sprawling continent of Asia. On the first day of the First Moon of their lunar calendar, the people of China celebrate a most important holiday - the Chinese New Year. Fireworks brighten the sky as silk dragons dance through the streets, with dancers and lantern-bearing children close behind. Katiana also designed the look for our Chinese New Year Barbie^® Doll, from the silky red gown with its mandarin collar and phoenix with flowers print, to the elegant styling of her makeup and accessories.
