Antique Vintage Mohawk Iroquois Indian Basket Baskets

The following listing is for a wonderful vintage Native American Indian basket. This was purchased at an antique shop near the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation, which is in Hogansburg, New York. There is a museum on the reservation where similar works, both antique and new, can be found. The basket is very large, measuring approximately 32" tall and about 16 to 17" across the widest part of the basket. As you can see, it is a very intricate design, with curlicued ribbon work. The handle of the lid has a wonderful criss-crossed wrap. The overall condition of the basket is very good, but due to the fragile nature of the work, many of the curlicue's have been damaged. This has been in my personal collection for years. Because of the size and the fragile nature of the basket, I would prefer local pick-up buyers only, but if you can make arrangements with a shipper to package and send this to you, I would certainly be willing to have them come to my home to get the basket. Please inquire and we'll see what kind of arrangements can be made.

I keep all correspondence and photos until either an eternity has passed, or you let me know all has gone well, in case of problems, damage, etc. Due to the charges for image hosting, it's essential that I'm able to delete photos I no longer need. Shipping Information

Buyer pays fixed shipping costs and insurance. This figure is based on actual shipping (in most cases, it is actual shipping). I use the term 'fixed' only because there are occasional discrepancies between my scale and that of the Post Office, which is digital. Money orders and Paypal ship immediately; allow 10 business days for personal checks to clear before shipping.
