At one time, CX/cyclocross riders regularly used soccer shoes. While there are definitely advantages to using an ATB/MTB shoe, if you don't want to worry about clipping-in, then a pair of soccer shoes & "regular" pedals may be the way to go!

Whether for soccer or cycling, you can save a trip to the mall if you need a larger size OR a practice SOCCER shoe for those wet weather days because this is a good choice even though it is one of the many low-end soccer shoes which Adidas has made (about $40 "retail" by my recollection ... maybe, the MSRP was a little higher).

Incredibly, it is only one of a few (the only one?!?) shoe which they didn't even feel like giving a name (that is to say, I don't recall what it was called, and it isn't imprinted anywhere), but as you can hopefully see, it is clearly modeled after the Adidas COPA MUNDIAL shoe model! 

I got them because I thought it would be a good idea to have a pair to wear if the pitch was ever wet (that has happened to me in the Midwest), but it doesn't rain here too often! 

 

Condition is good.  These have been used for about the equivalent of 10 games (~15 hours).

I just pulled the laces to use with another pair of shoes ... so, the current laces are the ones from my Copa Mundial and do NOT have all their plastic tips.!
