ABOUT MARILYN MONROE…
"Sex is a part of nature. I go along with nature''
Marilyn Monroe
Born: Norma Jean Mortenson (Also known as Norma Jean Baker)
In: June 1,1926 Murdered August 4, 1962 around 10:30 pm at her home in Brentwood Calif. 12305 Fifth Helena Drive
Married to: Jimmy Dougherty, Joe DiMaggio, Arthur Miller
Measurements: 37-22-35
Marilyn Monroe was not only one of the most popular film stars of the fifties, but also one of the greatest sex symbols of this century. The most completely realized film actress since Greta Garbo and pure cinema. She kidded with sex like Mae West earlier. Marilyn was certainly not serious, as she half closed her eyes and half opened-her mouth, as she wiggled her chassis : a comic-strip cartoon blonde come to life. But she never threw sex at audiences. Marilyn was tentative and vulnerable. Marilyn had a cunning way of suggesting naughtiness and innocence at the same time, but the naughtiness was appearance. The camera loved her, there was something magical and desperate about her.
Some of her memorable movies include 1949 The Asphalt Jungle (director John Huston ), 1950 All About Eve (Bette Davis and George Sanders), 1953 Niagara
1953 Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (Staring Jane Russell ), 1954 How to Marry a Millionaire (starring Betty Grable Lauren Bacall), 1955 Seven Year Ich ( directed by Billy Wilder starring Tom Ewell), 1955 Bus Stop ( Starring Don Murray), 1957 The Prince And The Showgirl ( Laurence Olivier ), 1959 Some like it Hot (Starring Jack Lemon and Tony Curtis), 1961 The Misfits (directed by John Huston /written by Arthur Miller), 1962 Unfinished Something's Got To Give (Director George Cukor).
