After playing football at USC, Brown began his appearing in the film . He moved forward to appear in guest starring roles in several television series; including , , , and . He continued this trend of appearing on television, until in he returned to the big screen as the character Enforcer, in the highly acclaimed , .
Brown has continued his career moving between television and feature films. He is perhaps best known for portraying the main character, Dave Ryder in , (), which was featured in a well known episode of .
He also played in two made-for-TV films/unsuccessful series pilots during the late 1970s, part of the same // development deal that yielded the vehicle, . Coincidentally, the two muscular actors later played veterans/buddies in a pair of action films, () and (). Brown also appeared in (1988) and (). A notable role came in , when he played Blaster, another Vietnam Vet character, who trains with other vets in a POW rescue operation, in (1983). He also played the lead in , (1983), and the supporting role of the only white member of the team in the college basketball comedy, , (). In a another notable film, (1978), he played the role of Enforcer.
Reb Brown appeared in a third-season episode "Viking Bikers From Hell." He was cast as a sociopathic biker, avenging his buddy's recent death.
