Bauer Pottery was founded as Paducah Pottery (Paducah Kentucky) in 1885 by John Bauer.  It produced a line of stoneware and eartheware jugs and crocks.   In 1909 J. Andy Bauer opened  plants in Los Angeles and, slightly later, Atlanta.  In 1932 the Los Angeles facility started producing Fiestaware type dinnerware.  The company closed its doors in 1962.
