Matchbox 1920 AC Mack Yesteryear Truck MIP 1985 Diecast

This item is a vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear die-cast truck. It is a mint 1920 Mack Truck Acorn Storage Co, Model Y-30-A made in 1985. It is signed "Made in England". It is New and in the original box. The truck is excellent; the box is worn on edges and bent on the top tab. These rare 1:43 scale models are hard to find in such good condition. Model still has original box with clear plastic windows, model number stamped on side and front, and history of the vehicle on the back.

Designed in 1914, the thoroughly tested Mack was in full production by January 1916. Used by the Allies during World War I, it lived up to its nickname the "Bull Dog Mack" given by the British when they saw its appearance and rugged qualities. Further development after the war enabled Mack to fully share in satisfying the demand for lorries as the U.S. Government pushed ahead with its road building programme. The 1930 Mack had a 4 cylinder 7.7 litre engine, a 3 speed gear box and a final drive by rear chains. (from the back of the box)

This detailed Matchbox collectible is quite different from the small, low-cost Matchbox models that were mass-marketed to children. The "Models of Yesteryear" feature superior levels of detailing and decoration, a high number of quality parts, and all die-cast chassis. In addition, the "Models of Yesteryear" comes mint in the box with the original advertising! Truly a must for any ardent collector!
