You are bidding on the first three James Bond 007 films starring Sean Connery ( Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger) on 3 ANAMORPHIC (enhanced for 16x9 TVs) WIDESCREEN DVDs. The ANAMORPHIC WS transfers were taken from the OOP Special Edition DVDs along with the normal Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtracks and normal Dolby Digital 2.0 MGM commentary tracks (in the case of Goldfinger, there are TWO MGM commentary tracks, both of which are included). What makes this auction special is that to each film the BANNED Criterion Collection CAV LaserDisc commentary tracks in Dolby Digital 2.0 have been professionally added as a third (and in the case of Goldfinger -- a fourth) audio track! These BANNED Criterion Collection commentary tracks are extremely candid and were immediately pulled out of Criterion LaserDisc circulation by producers Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli and Harry Saltzman due to some controversial statements made by the filmmakers -- director Terrence Young ( Dr. No and From Russia With Love), screenwriter Richard Maibaum, editor Peter Hunt, production designer Ken Adam, and director Guy Hamilton ( Goldfinger). The commentaries are hosted by Bruce Eder ( Dr. No and Goldfinger) and Steve Rubin ( From Russia With Love). Each DVD is just the movie only; there are no extras included on each disc, so the bitrate of the ANAMORPHIC WS transfer is the same as the OOP Special Edition DVDs. Therefore, to access the various audio tracks, including the BANNED Criterion Collection commentary track, you need to use the "audio" button on your DVD player's remote control. The exact chapter markers of of the OOP Special Edition DVDs have also been preserved for each DVD. If you want to see all of the extras for each film, then I strongly encourage you to buy the OOP Special Edition DVDs.

These DVDs play on most DVD players and is compatible with any computer (Mac or PC) equipped with a DVD-ROM drive. Please check the compatibility of your DVD player to see whether it supports the DVD-R format before you bid. If you want DVD+R discs (RiDATA R02), instead of DVD-R discs, they are $0.50 extra per disc. To see if your DVD player will play DVD-R (or DVD+R), click here. I use Ritek G05 DVD-R discs exclusively, which are THE VERY BEST for longevity and compatibility with DVD players that play DVD-R discs.
