You set it right on top of your woodstove. As the stove heats up it starts the fan, the hotter the stove, the faster the fan. The fan automatically slows as the stove cools. These fans work really well and there is no installation, hook up or wires & cords. You just take it out of the box, set it on the stove and as the stove heats up, away it goes! The fan is powered by a thermoelectric module which generates power from a heat differential between its top and bottom surfaces -- The Seebeck Effect.
