Clenbuterol

Clenbuterol (often referred to simply as 'Clen') is not a steroid, but a Beta 2 Sympathomitetic and central nervous system (CNS) stimulant. It is a specific agonist, stimulating the adrenergic beta 2 receptors. It is used in certain countries in a medical sense as a bronchodilator in the treatment of asthma, though not in the UK and USA, mainly due to its long half life.Athletes and bodybuilders use the drug due to its thermogenic and anti-catabolic effects.

This is because of it's ability to slightly increase the body's core temperature, thereby
raising calorie (energy) expenditure. It is thought that a 1°F increase yields around a 5% increase in maintenance calories burned.

Studies on livestock suggest that clenbuterol also has anabolic properties. However, this seems not to be the case in humans, thought to be due to the fact that humans lack the abundance of beta 3 receptors which increase insulin production and sensitivity.

Clenbuterol is dosed in micrograms (mcg), Note: Although dosages are in microgram amounts, many manufacturers will list the active ingredient as milligrams (mg),
so a tablet of 40mcg will be labelled as 0.04mg.

Commonly used doses

It is well known that Clenbuterol use results in rapid down-regulation of beta 2 receptors.
This is due to the powerful stimulatory effect of the drug. It is therefore pointless to use
clen for long periods without a break. Some believe that a two day on, two day off dosing
schedule will allow adequate potential for receptor up-regulation.However, I doubt this to be the case due to the relatively long half life of clen, resulting in continued stimulation even throughout the 'off' days. A much better regime would be a three week on, three week off cycle (working out each day, you never take Clen when you are not working out). Take the Clen about 1/2 - 1 hour before working out.

If you want to take Clen for longer than 3 weeks on 3 weeks off you need to take it with Ketotifen.

A tapering up of dosages is recommended in an attempt to limit harsh side effects. Most commonly, a user will start by taking 20mcg on day 1, followed by an increase of 20mcg the next day and then 20mcg a day until your correct dose is reached (many men/woman are happy with just 80mcg a day) subject to personal tolerance levels, Men should never exceed 160mcg and women should not exceed 120mcg.

Cytomix (60mcg T3 Cytomel + 20mcg T4 Synthroid)

Cytomel is not an anabolic/androgenic steroid but a thyroid hormone. As a substance it contains synthetically manufactured liothyronine sodium which resembles the natural thyroid hormone tricodide-thyronine (L-T3). The thyroid of a healthy person usually produces two hormones, the better known L-thyroxine (L-T4) and the aforementioned L-trilodine~thyronine (L-T3). Since Cytomel is the synthetic equivalent of the latter hormone, it causes the same processes in the body as if the thyroid were to produce more of the hormone. It is interesting to note that L-T3 is clearly the stronger and more effective of these two hormones. This makes Cytomel more effective than the commercially available L-T4 compounds such as L-thyroxine or Synthroid.

Cytomel is used to treat thyroid insufficiency (hypothyroidism). Among other secondary symptoms are obesity, metabolic disorders, and fatigue. Bodybuilders take advantage of these charcteristics and stimulate their metabolism by taking Cytomel, which causes a faster conversion of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Bodybuilders, of course, are especially interested in an increased lipolysis, which means in­creased fat burning. Competing bodybuilders, in particular, use Cytomel during the weeks before a championship since it helps to maintain an extremely low fat content, without necessitating a hunger diet. Athletes who use low dosages of Cytomel report that by the simultaneous intake of steroids, the steroids become more effective, most likely as the result of the faster conversion of protein..

As for the dosage, one should be very careful since Cytomel is a very strong and highly effective thyroid hormone. It is extremely important that one begins with a low dosage, increasing it slowly and evenly over the course of several days. Most athletes begin by taking one 1/2 of a Cytomix tablet per day and increasing this dosage every three to four days by one additional 1/2 tablet. A dose higher than 2 pills/day is not necessary and not advisable.

It is not recommended that the daily dose not be taken all at once but broken down into three smaller individual doses so that they become more effective. It is also important that Cytomel not be taken for more than three weeks. At least four weeks of break from the drug needs to follow. Those who take high dosages of Cytomel over a long period of time are at risk of developing a chronic thyroid insufficiency. As a consequence, the athlete might be forced to take thyroid medication for the rest of his life. It is also important that the dosage is reduced slowly and evenly by taking fewer tablets and not be ended abruptly.

If you take it with Clenbuterol the results will be better.
