Each Commemorative Medal is sealed in a protective package and has a Bicentennial chip.
They are in a cut out display envelope with four stamps. They are stamped FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. This one is stamped July 4th 1974, Philadelphia, PA.
Each envelope has brochure cards describing the obverse and reverse, as well as historic information.
Obverse:
John Adams
John Adams (1735-1826) was a Boston lawyer who became a prominent leader of the cause for independence, and the second president of the United States. Adams was elected to the First Continental Congress and served in each succeeding congress until the end of 1777.
Reverse:
The First Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress was created because of the acts of an exasperated British ministry imposed upon the American Colonies, a series of punitive measures known as the "Intolerable" or "Coercive Acts," in retaliation for the "Boston Tea Party" and other overt acts of colonial resistance.
