The green is not painted on, but the glass is actually green. The color is a rich Christmas green, not avocado. These stems are about 3 7/8 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter across the top. I have a larger size of these, too, that looks like it might be a water stem. These stems are much better made than most of the Anchor Hocking kitchen glass. They are clear green with no major flaws, and the clear base is bubble design. These stems have the safety lip, too, so they do not chip as easily as lots of the stemware of that era.
