| Elegant Glass Open Salt Cellar with Foot and Handles Fostoria Chippendale ? Open salt cellar elegant Depression glass Chippendale foot and handles crystal salt dish maybe Fostoria glass. This is a splendid piece of glass, and it is shaped like the Chippendale pattern shown in Heacock books, and he attributes that to Davidson and Central Glass. This one, however, looks more like Fostoria Alexis or one of the Flute patterns like Heisey and some other elegant glass, since it does not have the ridge around the scallops like I think the Chippendale one has. This is a very clear and quality piece. It is about 2 1/4 inches to the top of the handles and 2 inches across the bowl. It has an hexagonal foot and a ridge at the base where it fits onto the bowl. This splendid little piece has a tiny bite on the bottom edge of each handle and a little factory flaw at the foot. There is a tiny speck on one of the scallops I can see with a magnifying glass. I cannot see any other damage, and it is shiny and clear like it is new, although it is an old piece of glass. Buy with confidence! Cajunc has been buying and selling on the internet for ten years.
