Sending your iPod for repair can be very expensive. Apple charges $250 to repair your iPod. They actually replace your iPod for you instead of repairing it and returning it back to you. So if you have songs on it, they will be gone. If your iPod is still under warranty, it's best to send it back to Apple for a replacement. I will repair your iPod if your warranty expired. I replace LCD screens, front & back covers, broken/stuck buttons, hard drive, batteries, etc. Your songs will not be touched unless there is an issue with the hard drive and it needs to be replaced. I can try to recover it if you want.
These problems that can be repaired include (but not limited to) the following:
For those who want to have a rough estimate on how much it will cost to do the repair if parts are required, I would say less than $100 usually. Depending on the model you have, it can be much cheaper or a bit higher (if it's the newer models). I charge a flat fee of $30 for doing repairs on your iPod. If any parts are needed for the repair, they will be extra. I suggest that before you use this service, email/tell me what's wrong with your iPod first. I can give you an estimate on how much more it will cost to repair (if parts are needed that is). I will need to take a look at your iPod to see what's wrong with it exactly. Then I will either repair it (without any parts being replaced, if none are needed) or email you with a price quote on the part. If you agree, I will replace the needed part and charge you for the part. If you agree to replace the part for the amount mentioned (this could be during the auction or after), please don't change your mind. An order will probably be placed for them already. If you don't want it repaired (or decline a repair), but just want a diagnosis of what's wrong, it will just be $10 for the diagnosis. This diagnosis fee will be included in the $30 fee (so don't need to pay extra) if you want your iPod repaired by me. If you have a part ordered already and just need it to be installed, feel free to send it in also. I will replace the part for you. I will also do battery upgrades/replacement. There are these "booster" upgrade batteries that can give your iPod as much as 150% more power than the original battery (this is for the 4th Generation iPod or iPod Photo ONLY - also they can NOT be the slim/thin models either or it won't fit). The percentage of increase depends on what iPod model you have. These new batteries can have up to 20 hours usage. These booster batteries are only available for the 1st Generation to 5th Generation iPods and the iPod Mini. The iPod Shuffle and Nano do NOT qualify for these upgrades. If you just want a bad battery replaced, it can be done for all the models. For the battery upgrades, it will cost $20-$30 more for the part. For regular batteries it will be $10-$20 average. If interested, contact me for a more exact price quote. If you are in the Brooklyn, NY area and want your iPod fixed ASAP, we can meetup somewhere and I will fix it on the spot. This will save you on the shipping cost and you will also get your iPod fixed faster. If you have the part needed already, that would be even better. Otherwise, I'll see if I have it in stock or order it first. If I can't fix the iPod or you do NOT want it to be repaired (ex: too expensive to replace a certain part), I will give you a full refund minus the shipping/handling charge (& $10 diagnosis fee) to return back to you. There will be 15 days warranty on all the repairs I do. If you attempt to open the case yourself after it's fixed, this will void the warranty that I give and I will NOT service it again (without another fee). The warranty only applies if the same problem returns. So if it does, there will be no question asked. Just send it back for repair. You don't need to pay shipping unless the problem found is different from the first time. You may also sell your iPod to me if you don't want to get it fixed. I will be glad to buy it from you. I will determine what price it's worth and you may take the offer or request that your iPod be returned instead. If you want to sell any of your broken iPods to me, you may contact me and I will give you a price quote depending on what's wrong. I will service all versions of the iPod except for the iPod Shuffle. The parts are very hard to find for this model and the cost of repairing it might cost more than the Shuffle itself. The main problem I see on these are usually a battery issue. I will ONLY accept Paypal payments. In Paypal, under the Notes section, you MUST include the issue you are having with your iPod and whether you are including the parts or having me buy them for you. This will help speed things up a little. If we agreed to get a certain part already, please include that in the Paypal total. I will send some kind of Invoice to you afterwards. Print that out and mail it with your iPod. If you don't have a printer, at least include the Invoice# (KIP) located at the upper right corner of the Invoice. Write it on a sheet of paper along with what's wrong with the iPod. I recommend shipping your iPod in a box (preferably USPS Priority Mailboxes or use any firm box so your iPod is secure) with Signature Confirmation ($1.90). This will ensure that the item was received. I will ship it back using this method to ensure that it gets to you in a timely matter. Only ship your iPod unit itself. I don't need any of the accessories. Have more than one iPod that needs to be repaired? No problem. Send that one in also. I will combine shipping (50% off shipping for each additional item). Let me know what iPod you have and what issues you are having with it so I can get any parts earlier if needed. I have too many users contacting me without telling me the iPods they have. To see which model you have, take a look here. Let me know which one is your's. If you have the 4th Generation ones, make sure to mention if it's the color or non-color version. If you want to check my credentials, feel free to contact me. I also have an account on eBay with over 100+ positive feedbacks (100% positive).
