I AM THE PERSON THAT SAVED THIS FOOTAGE FROM CERTAIN
DEATH. I SPENT OVER TWO YEARS AND $1,000 TO RESTORE THIS
FOOTAGE!!!
You are purchasing a set of
VERY RARE DVDs FROM THE GLORY DAYS OF 1970's PORTLAND
WRESTLING!!! We're talking PNW legends like Lonnie
Mayne, Dutch Savage, Kangaroo Johnny Boyd, Stan Stasiak, Killer Tim
Brooks, Sam Oliver (Ron) Bass, Red Bastein, The Sheephearders,
Jimmy Snuka, Ron Starr & many wrestlers in the very early years
of their careers like Jesse Ventura, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Playboy
Buddy Rose, Rick Martel, Adrian Adonis, Gino Hernandez &
Ed Wiskowski.

If you'd like to check out a couple of samples of this
footage, you can do that here:

My Portland Wrestling footage is the oldest footage of the
promotion that can be found anywhere....including the ONLY footage
of Lonnie Mayne wrestling in Portland!!!
Below, I've included the long, strange history (more like
a novel) behind these tapes, along with match
listings. It's quite a bit to read, but I want potential
buyers to know the entire story before making a purchase!!!

They do cost more than the usual wrestling DVD's, but
that's because I've invested quite a bit of my own money into
getting them to where they are now.
The main comment I get from people who have
purchased these DVDs is along the lines of "The quality
is better than I thought." Each DVD runs between
1:50-2:00.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The cost to get everything done, so far, has
been extremely costly....close to $1,000!!! To me, it
was well worth it! These shows were originally taped on an old, out
of date video format that predated Beta & VHS. It was
called "The Quasar Great Time Machine", alothough it took me a long
time to even find that out. Between 1980-2000, these
tapes sat in a damp storage locker collecting dust & LOTS of
mold. The original player for this format of tape disappeared in
the late 1970s & has become beyond rare, thus there was no way
to view these tapes. When I first saw these tapes, most
of them were unlabled, but one had "Lonnie Mayne/Buddy Rose
11/77" written on it. I can't tell you how badly I
wanted to see that tape, but couldn't! That's when my
two year quest to get these tapes on to modern day format
began.
Once I found out what the format was, I had to
find a player or someone that had a player. They are so
beyond rare, that in the past four years, I've only seen one
of them on eBay. After some time, I got in contact
with a video equipment collector back east. Did you
ever see the movie "Auto Focus", it was the movie about Bob Crane
of Hogan's Heroes? He also supply some equipment
for the "hatch" scenes on the TV show "Lost." This guy
supplied most of the old video equipment they used in that
movie. Well, he had three of these machines, none
of which worked & there was nobody that could fix
them. He sold me one of them in hopes that I
could get it fixed, then tell him what could be wrong with his
other two machines. As luck would have it,
there's a video repair store about five miles away from me that
could still work on this machine.
It took quite a bit of work, but they got the
machine up & running. Unfortunately, these
tapes were so gunked up with crap on the tape, that it gummed up
the machine. Some of the video tapes was gray from
so much mold & mildew on them. I had about 40 tapes
to go through. That meant taking the machine in for a
cleaning every week or so. Not cheap....but worth
it. Since most of these tapes were not labled, I would
have no idea what I would see. It's for that reason
that the dates on the tapes jump around quite a bit.
Once I found some wrestling footage, I dubbed it. Who
knew when my playback machine would die again.
For the most part the video is in pretty
good/very good condition, especially when you consider what
these tapes have been through & how extremely rare they
are. I've noted where the quality is less than decent. Also,
these were taped in the days before cable, so the reception was
from a regular old, top of your house TV antenna. There are
occasional lines that look like tracking problems, when it's really
some of the really heavy duty damage to the original video tape
caused by excessive mold.
PLEASE

do not expect these tapes to look like something you taped off
TV yesterday!!!
These tapes are for the true fans of 1970's
Pacific Northwest wrestling that want a rare, nostalgic look back
at one of the greatest, most underrated wrestling promotions
of all time!!! Some of the tapes also include commercials
from longtime Portland Wrestling sponsors Friendly Chevrolet
("Movin' out those 1977 cars and trucks to make way for
the '78's!) & Tom Peterson. All tapes run
between 1:50-2:00 in length & are dubbed on Memorex DVD-R
16x discs.
Please don't hesitate to email me with any
questions!!!

& it looked for a time like the fire could get out of control.
The show was shown on a 90 minutes tape delay. Some people watching

this was on TV. When the PFD arrived, the Portland Sports Arena was
